The Adolescent Success Middle Years Schools of Excellence (MYSOE) Renewal Pathway 1 MYSOE Renewal + Diagnostic and School Improvement Tool Our preferred pathway combines MYSOE renewal with the evidence-informed Middle Years Diagnostic and School Improvement Tool. It helps schools assess current practice, recognise strengths and set a clear improvement agenda. Rather than renewal being simply a revalidation of what has already been achieved, the Diagnostic encourages schools to ask: What is working particularly well? What has changed since our original MYSOE acknowledgement? Where are there opportunities to strengthen our practice? What might we do differently or more intentionally? What should our next phase of middle years improvement look like? (Note: The Diagnostic Process is undertaken by a team and takes approximately one full day, or two half day sessions; with some follow up sessions. It is facilitated face-to-face or via zoom). The Adolescent Success Middle Years Schools of Excellence (MYSOE) Renewal Pathway 2 MYSOE Renewal + CONSULTAION Show us what has changed, what you've learned, and where you're heading next. For MYSOE schools at the end of their 3-year cycle, renewal is an opportunity to reflect on progress since their original acknowledgement—not repeat the original application. The MYSOE Renewal Review recognises that exemplary practice evolves as contexts, challenges and effective approaches change. Schools demonstrate how their middle years provision has developed and what they have learned through a tailored and agreed combination of: existing evidence and documentation a virtual presentation or showcase conversations with middle years leaders and/or students an optional virtual walk-through of relevant programmes, processes or practices reflection and evidence showing significant change, growth, innovation, impact and/or refinement future priorities and directions.
